Craps – What a game!

August 26, 2013

Unlike online pokies, craps is a game that has been around for a long time. It’s played across a multitude of cultures and has specific language and rules. It’s played by rolling a set of dices. In a casino, it’s the table that has a large crowd around it cheering. It often appears in movies with the dice being thrown against a wall on a street. And it’s taking the internet by storm! Now you are not limited to playing blackjack, roulette and pokies anymore. But let’s take a look at the game of craps.

BASICS:

Craps adds the sum of the two dices that are thrown. That becomes what is called the point. The next roller must roll the point before rolling a higher number and so on. If the player rolls the point the Pass line bet wins and the dices are rolled again. The next roll is another come out roll.

LANGUAGE:

The Come Out Roll/Pass Line Bet: This is the opening roll of the dices that begins the game. This determines whether the player wins, loses or continues. This is a bet made before anyone ever rolls the dices. If the roll is a 7 or 11 you win. If the roll is a 2, 3 or 12 you lose. All other numbers lets the game continue.

The Marker:  This is a device that tells you what stage the game is in. Black and reading off, the player has not made the point. White and on a number, the player has made the point.

In total, there are about 40 different bets that a person can make on a game of craps, but all you need to be concerned about is your bet, and the roll.

For playing craps online, computer software relies on mathematical algorithms to determine the outcome of a roll. It works as a random number generator with odds of winning.

Almost all modern online casinos offer different variations of craps games. So what are you waiting for?
